The tech originally thought he needed to replace the manifold and possibly a valve, which would have been over $500 in parts. He ordered the parts, but upon further investigation on his return visit he determined it was a minor, easy fix. He could easily have installed the parts and charged us, but he didn’t. Kitchen Aid Ice Machine Model#: KUIX335HPS01 - Problem: Not producing Ice - Solution: Bin Thermistor - The client was not receiving from this under counter icemaker After spending some time with the unit, I was able to test the thermostat to find it was out of range This was causing the unit to interpret the status of the icemaker as full of ice, therefore not needing to produce anymore I returned with Parts and replace the temperature sensor Shortly after the repair was completed, I noticed that the drain pump was laying on the reservoir floor This was due to calcification around the drain pump receiver, which caused the plastic to break apart and the drain pump to fall to the floor The client was understanding of the circumstance, but I still only charged for the price of the part and my time to go pick it up I returned a second time to replace the reservoir Reinstalled the drain pump Tested operation The unit look to be operating normally The
